Use the computer; Save the world!

With such incredible advances in computing, it's amazing that they have finally come up with a way for the average person to assist in the curing of cancer. I like to joke around with people while I'm playing my video games and say that I'm helping to cure cancer, but in essence, my computer can do that. Among many other sites, the World Community Grid lets you download a simple program that runs as a screensaver and... searches for cancer cures, global warming, etc. Honestly, I've lost a father to cancer and nearly lost my sister and my friend. Cancer, among many other diseases, is plaguing our planet. If I can do a little bit to help, why not?
